It's that time of year for new area eligibility data for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Get the map and data here!
What is area eligibility? Area eligibility in child nutrition programs determines whether or not child care centers, afterschool/at-risk and SFSP sites can participates in the federal child nutrition programs. Any licensed/registered family child care provider can participate on the CACFP.
What does area eligibility mean for family child care providers? Area eligibility is one of the ways Tier 1 or Tier 2 reimbursement rates are determined for the family child care provider.

Area eligibility during COVID-19 has been waived for SFSP or SSO and Afterschool-At Risk sites through December 31, 2020. Note: this does not apply to child care centers or family child care homes.
