Pop-Up Zoom Meeting: On-Site Claims Verification/Validation Reviews (CDSS Notice)

šŸ—“ļø Thursday at 11:00 AM Pacific | šŸ“ Zoom

⭐ Free for CACFP Roundtable Members

šŸ·ļøĀ $25.00 Non-membersĀ

Our communities are facing uncertainty and hardship in a number of ways. This week, California Department of Social Services - CACFP Branch, sent an email to all California CACFP Sponsors and facilities sharing that the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Services (USDA FNS) will conduct on-site reviews in the next 60 calendar days. Along with this notification, there was a request for specific information outlined in this notice. CACFP Roundtable thought you might have questions or concerns, and are therefore providing space to hear directly from CDSS and each other.Ā

  • Jessie Rosales, CDSS CACFP Branch Chief, will join us for the first 30 minutes to give voice to the email you received and listen to your concerns and questions.Ā

  • Liza M. Davis, Esq., Advocacy Director, Children in Immigrant Families from the Children's Partnership, will also join us toĀ talk to us about what your rights are when people come to your facilities.Ā

We may not have all the answers, but we believe it is important to come together to 1) support each other, and 2) gather questions and concerns to lift up to CDSS and other policy makers as appropriate.Ā

CACFP Roundtable holds these pop-ups in response to what the community might need in the moment. Join us with your questions, ideas, and concerns.Ā Ā  Register here

Become a Mealtime Ally: Understanding & Navigating Feeding Challenges in CACFP Settings

Grab your favorite snack and join us for a dynamic session on Pediatric Feeding Disorder (PFD)—a condition affecting more than 1 in 37 children under age 5, and as common as autism or cerebral palsy. Early interventionists and CACFP professionals are often the first to support families facing mealtime challenges, which can be stressful for children, staff, and caregivers alike. Through a compassionate, relationship-focused lens, feeding therapists Allie Glazer, M.S.CCC-SLP/L, and Angela Hughes, M.S.CCC-SLP/L will reframe "picky eating," highlight the complexity of feeding, and distinguish typical struggles from PFD.

Participants will learn about the four domains of PFD, debunk common feeding myths, and discover why mealtimes can be overwhelming—often due to sensory and skill-based factors, not just behavior. The practical "3 P’s Framework"—Proactive Preparation, Practical Presentation, and Partnership—will equip you with actionable, pressure-free strategies to support positive food experiences and healthy caregiver-child relationships. Walk away ready to spot red flags, use screening tools, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and empower families and staff to champion lifelong healthy relationships with food.Ā If you can't make it at the designated time, you can access it for a year on-demand afterward.

Simultaneous interpretation will be provided.Ā
