This RFI asks for feedback in regard to the data that comes out of the Economic Research Service (ERS), the National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS), and the World Agricultural Outlook Board (OCE-WAOB).  As it relates to CACFP, ERS, is the “Recognized Statistical Agency and Unit responsible for producing relevant, timely, credible, accurate, and objective statistical data under established quality and transparency standards.” This has been designated by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). ERS produces reports and briefings by subject matter experts that provide context for informing policy discussions.

The RFI states that this information will “help inform USDA as we consider future program direction, new initiatives, and potential funding opportunities.”

In the comment letter to USDA, CACFP Roundtable shares the importance of The Food Security Supplement to the Current Population Survey (CPS-FSS), which was composed by the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC). This data set is really important to understand a full scope and picture about food security in the United States.

Additionally, we discussed the importance of data and reports collected by the Economic Research Service (ERS), specifically to CACFP research and reporting. You can read the CACFP Roundtable's comment letter here.

The last day to comment is today, April 9th.
