A common question the CCFP Roundtable has been asked is if program operators could continue to operate the At-Risk Afterschool meals component of the CACFP would be allowed past June 30th. Many program operators citing how beneficial it has been to provide suppers to families in need.
While California Department of Education - Nutrition Services Division did submit a waiver to USDA to allow at-risk operators to continue through the summer but today USDA has confirmed that it has denied the waiver request.
Therefore, June 30, 2020, was the last day At-Risk program operators could provide that component of their program until school year for 2020-21.
